I was driving with my boyfriend the other day, when I saw a girl walking with these awesome striped boots, and couldn't help but think of this book.My elder sister and I used to love this book so much, we'd fight over who got to sleep with it underneath their pillow... that is, until the day Mum got so fed up, she bought a second copy to stop all the tussles. I read it every night before going to sleep, for a very long time. I even went out and got rainbow coloured boots, just like in the book.A sweet little memory of a sweet little story.

Jenna (3) really enjoyed this book about Sarah and the favorite rain boots that she outgrew (although Sarah insists that they shrunk). Sarah loves her boots and wants no part of getting new boots. She tries a variety of things to get her special boots to grow, but none of them work (what a surprise!!). Jenna loved reading the line, "I DON'T WANT NEW BOOTS" over and over again in a very stern voice.

Little Sarah's favourite rainboots -- the ones that go SQUISH and make the water go KERSPLAT! -- have shrunk! She tries everything she can think of to make them bigger, but nothing works. Her mother suggests that she's grown and takes her out to buy new boots -- with a red racing stripe -- but will she ever learn to love them as much?Great for storytime with preschoolers (it's a bit long for toddlers)

I love love LOVED THIS BOOK as a child. If I could give this book a higher rating I would have. But then again Paulette and Brenda create marvelous fantastic stories and images for children.the franklin series is also verry verry good.

I adored this book as a kid--and I'm sure in no small part because of the shared name. I uncovered in a box the other day to my utter glee. To this day I STILL want a yellow rain coat and hat, and a pair of yellow boots with stripes.

One of my favourites from childhood. My copy has lost its cover due to the wear from all the reads.
