★★★★ 3/4! Breaking Leila, book 1 of 2. An erotic tale of woman torn between two men & her twisted journey of self-discovery!“There was something wickedly thrilling about both of the jobs I did.”Books in Knives & Flowers series should be read in order:Book 1: Breaking LeilaBook 2: Breaking JosephBreaking Leila (book 1) opens up to law intern Leila Vaughn, Lei-Lei aka Charlotte wrapping up a day of work at the law firm where she has been interning in hopes of future employment. And for the last year she has been grave-yarding as a high class escort after discovering her parents buried in her students loans were about to lose everything. To cope with this second career she has created an alter ego. It’s the vixen Charlotte who seduces men, explores her sexuality and pushes boundaries, but she has discovered she quite likes and has mixed feelings about her escort career coming to an end.Imagine her shock when her clients for the evening turns out to be her boss the mysterious , mercurial and somewhat sinister law firm partner, Joseph Merchant, Joe aka Chairman of the Whored along with her coworker and friend, law intern Matthew Gordon, Matt aka Mattman/Matt-Matt.It was a night of mind-blowing sex; kinky, raw, possessive and in the midst of it all an aloof Joseph. While Matt makes plans for the future in hopes of an exclusive relationship with Leila, Joseph makes arrangement for Leila to finish her last jobs with him. A devious yet exhilarating plan. Sex she should now want but clearly crave and feels a deep connection to. At a cross road follow of Leila on an erotic journey of sexual exploration, torn between two men she is forced to reevaluate who she is and what she wants and in the process deal with her past. Her decisions are complicated by a web of lies and omissions. On the sideline a master manipulator or her biggest ally? With Joseph Leila is confused, intrigued, and frightfully turned on. She is scared of losing herself to him, in him. With Matt there are complications and red flags, but there is safety and normalcy in what he offers. Nine words to describeLeila Vaughn, Lei-Lei aka Charlotte: Fearless, kinky, captivating, insightful, obtuse, analytical, private, focused and vulnerable.Center stage; her boss, law partner Joseph Merchant, Joe aka Chairman of the Whored. What works in Joseph’s favor is his confident, enigmatic, commanding AND intuitive personality. He speaks to her kinky side; explorative BDSM with a dark edge. But maybe more importantly that he appears willing to manipulate the situation to get what he wants. “Dirty little girl.” He pulled out. “I love it.” His fingers slid from my breasts, which were cool and heavy without his touch.”Look wise Matt has everything I could ever ask for in a hero. Vying for Leila’s heart feeling cornered by his boss, law intern Matthew Gordon, Matt aka Mattman/Matt-Matt is possessive, irrational, vulnerable and immature. What works in his favor is that he wears his heart on his sleeves. He is giving her Carte Blanche and what a sweet, forthcoming, caring young man he is. Leila knows he is man she can build a future with and the best man for when she bids Charlotte goodbye.“God. Matthew, how could I corrupt thee? Let me count the ways…”Breaking Leila is told from Leila’s POV, taking us journey self-discovery and growth. As she digs back into her background and get hints of deeper yearning. It’s a mess of lies and deceit in a game skating of the edge of inappropriate. Story ends abruptly to be concluded in book 2, Breaking Joseph.Enchanting story-telling! Intriguing and kinky plot! Captivating heroine! Sinister and addicting Joseph! 4.25 “Lilac” Stars Leila Vaughn is a sophisticated trainee lawyer who is trying to come to terms with her deviant side. While she has tried to separate this side of her life, she has never been able to deny herself. When her two lives clash, she must try to choose a normal life or the life she craves.Joseph Merchant is a blonde haired, green-eyed commanding and predatory force of a man. He is a partner at the firm and is the supervising attorney. Leila’s platonic work relationship with Joseph drastically changes after that one night where Joseph summons Leila to his hotel room. Complicating the situation is Leila’s colleague, Matt. With dark luscious hair and a rugby-sculpted body, he is a constant reminder of what Leila could have and he is not about to let it go. After that one night, all of Leila’s walls start to crumble. For many years, she was able to keep her secret life concealed. She had a noble reason for her choices, but she now must come to terms about her preferences. To compound her dilemma, Joseph makes a power proposal leaving Leila no other choice but to accept his offer. Leila’s process to determine the best path is a difficult one and it isn’t just her heart at stake. In the end, it becomes crystal clear which man is right for her. The particular scene that seals Leila’s fate is erotic, intimate, possessing and kinky! I loved how it was perfect for Leila and Joseph. “He pulled the first scarf, trailing it through his fingers. He wound the blindfold about my neck and tugged me in for a kiss. One down, he said.”In addition to the hot sex, the friendship between Leila and Aiden is heartwarming and hysterical at times. Even though Aiden is a secondary character, he is a standout with his sexual prowess and comical quips. “Lei-Lei – When your cock has its own postcode, women kind of zone out.”This is my first book by this Lucy V. Morgan and I truly and immensely enjoyed it! I loved how her words just simply flowed, as it created a constant pace that captured my attention at all times. It also made me feel like I was a part of all the dialogue and Leila’s inner thoughts. The character development was layered with dimension. The emotional landscape captured each character’s vulnerabilities and strengths. There were trying times when I truly sympathized with the characters. The humor was an unexpected element and I loved the candid phrases and funny lines. I literally laughed out loud many time while reading. Of course, the steam factor was out of this world, as the scenes were intensely erotic! Furthermore, the plot was substantive. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and I look forward to immediately continuing to the second book in this series, Breaking Joseph.Note: This was a (F)BR with the sexy SueBee★bring me an alpha!★ Thanks for the buddy read! 2.5 stars The two sides of me - my two jobs- had always been seperated, by difference in hours if nothing else. Now, the two mingled as if someone had sliced right through the skin.Leila is a trainee lawyer during daytime, but she turns into Charlotte at night. Leading a double life, she also works as an escort and tries hard to keep these two lives seperate from each other. Until one night Charlotte's clients turn to be Matt, her collegue from the office and Joseph, their boss. Things become complicated after that night, since Joseph makes her an offer that she can't refuse. Everything turns even more complicated when in that tangled web Matt gets involved. Matt needs more from her, but knowing their agreement won't make it easy for any of them. Breaking Leila was a book that was too complicated and messy for me. The way it was written made me feel a little confused, since I couldn't understand everything, but that probably is up to me. Or maybe it was because I'm not used in british words and phrases. Cheers! However, the plot was intriguing and the characters well developed even when they weren't always likeable. I did expected something darker and I wished we had more of the heroes and less of the heroine. I do get that this story was mainly about the heroine's journey and it meant to show her side of things, thoughts and everything, but I wasn't a big fan of her, so maybe that influenced me.God. Matthew, how could I corrupt thee? Let me count the ways....I didn't like that for the most part of the book she was trying to be something that she clearly wasn't, fooling around with someone that she didn't belong to and eventually it was an unevitable train wreck that appeared from miles away. (view spoiler)[I liked Matt and for the biggest part of the book I was rooting for him. But Leila isn't the ordinary heroine so I should have kept that in mind before getting my hopes up. In the end I did realize that Matt wasn't a good match for her and Joseph was the one for her. But I wish we had seen them together more and maybe earlier in the book without Matt's involvement being such a huge part of the book. Joseph was fairly absent in comparison and that was mainly my issue. Thinking that Matt is the hero since until 80% they were together, I was lost when things went the other road.(hide spoiler)] I do understand the author's reasons for writing this that way, but that didn't help me enjoy it more than I did. This book had some really funny and sexy moments though and really amusing characters, like Aidan. He was amazing! I do hope my friends and other people will give this book a chance and sincerely hope they're going to love it more than I did. For my friends who care to know about sesnsitive subjects: (view spoiler)[ This book had some sort of love triangle, cheating & blood play.(hide spoiler)]["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

A Taboo And Sexy ReadLeila is a legal intern with a prestigious London firm. She is bright, with a promising career ahead of her...but Leila has a secret. When the sun sets, she lets her alter-ego, Charolette, run the show as a high-dollar call girl. With only a few remaining jobs left before she pays off her parents debts and quits her night job, she finds herself going to another hotel suite to meet another stranger. Only, she is met by her coworker, Matt, and her boss, Joseph, when she enters. Suddenly, her seedy nighttime activities are out. After a very steamy encounter with the two men, Leila knows that the dynamics of their relationships will be forever changed. On top of that, Joseph makes a deal with Leila that she can't refuse. He'll be her last client, booking her remaining jobs. Not in a position to decline, Leila accepts.Torn between the two men, Leila struggles between the daytime good girl and the nighttime harlot. She wants to be in a committed, "normal" relationship, but craves the darker and more taboo sexual encounters. She knows that she must choose one and give up the other. This book wasn't particularly dark, but was still a fantastic story. I was very surprised by the emotional roller coaster ride that this book took me on. From the first page to the last, I was utterly captivated by Leila's story. No timid, blushing, innocent heroine here! Leila was a lady that knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to ask for it. She oozed sexuality, even when she tried to restrain her desires. I'm starting the sequel immediately. This story was fantastic!

THREE AND HALF STARS Leila Vaughan leads a double life, a trainee tax lawyer at a top London firm by day and a high class call girl at night. Just a few jobs away from paying off her parents' debt for their estate, Leila continues with her "darker" profession, but things start to take an interesting turn when her most recent clients are her boss and co-worker. Enter a love triangle of sorts. The book is an erotic romance and smoking hot with some seriously steamy scenes and unlike other erotica books there is a variety to the sex scenes. I really liked that Leila was a complex character, unlike other books she wasn't ashamed of what she did and admitted to it--which I found refreshing. As Leila delves deeper into her relationship with both her boss, Joseph, and her co-worker, Matt, she discovers darker parts of herself.“I’ll have the semi-relationship served rare, with a side of self-torture. She’ll have frustration for starters, three different imagined fucks for mains...and bloody like it. What was missing from the book was a bit more from Joseph and Matt. Although the book was from Leila's perspective, I would say 60% of the book are her thoughts and rambling, it was just a bit toomuchLeila. I also thought the end of the book came out of no where. I would give this one a read, but definitely be prepared for some occasional skimming of Leila's ramblings.

Leila Vaughn a lawyer by day, a call girl by night. When Leila discovered that her parents business is on the verge of losing it, she took the easiest way to earn money by being a call girl. And Charlotte was born, her alter ego who caters to some of men’s fantasy or fetishes. Everything is going great and no one suspects Leila about her other job. Few more night as Charlotte and the debt of her parents will be paid. Then one fateful night everything will change. When Leila aka Charlotte, walks into the room to meet the client her agency set her up for, she got the surprise of her life. There’s her boss Joseph and her colleague Matt. A sexy ménage ensued. It’s so hot you may want to fan yourself while reading this part. Leila is now anxiously curious on how this will affect her working relationship with Matt and her boss, Joseph. True enough awkwardness follows when the next working day comes. But everyone is so mature about it and move on. But Joseph, told Leila to stop her “other job” and be her exclusive client until the debt of her parents is paid. From here on the story will continue to captivate you until you reach last page. Leila maybe a fictional character but the way it was written it feels like Leila is a real person. This book speaks to me. I immensely enjoyed reading it. The writing was flawless. The blurb alone hooked me right away. And when I started reading it, I just can't put it down, that's how engaging this book was. Author Lucy V. Morgan is a great find for me. This is a beautiful start of my love affair to books written by this author. Read during the ISC week on Shh... https://goo.gl/Zjtq0M

4.25 StarsOh, I could lie and say it was about the fuck, that seeds needed spreading, the beast wanted to hunt. Desire wasn’t about that, not half the time.First thing I want to say is, do not let the weird and dreadful title prevent you from reading this. I really liked the story. It was different, in a good way, and had my emotions constantly swaying. It was beyond steamy and practically covered almost every sexual fetish/fantasy, including and not limited to: BDSM, MFM, FMF, FF, voyeurism, prostitution, and even brief knife play. Yeah. It’s safe to say, it got pretty graphic and intense. However, underneath it all lay a story about a woman trying to find her true identity and figure out where exactly she belongs. Tri-sectedThis is the story of Leila, a tax law attorney, and her alter-ego, Charlotte. No she’s not bipolar or anything. Working a second job as an escort, “Charlotte” is the name she uses with her clients. She moonlights as an escort to make a lot of money in a short amount of time to help her parents keep their home. Her parents were on the brink of bankruptcy while helping her through college. She only has three more “jobs” left before she can officially call her whoring days over. However, when she shows up for her next job, her two worlds collide. She is surprised to find her boss, Joseph, and co-worker, Matt awaiting her. As a side note, I would like to state for the record that their threesome scene is incredibly HOT!! **Fans self** Whew! Wow. Okay. I’m good now. Anyway, after that night, her boss, Joseph, offers to hire her for her last three “jobs,” claiming that she’ll put the firm’s reputation at risk if she continues. However, things get more complicated when her attraction to both men start to consume her. Leila is torn. Matt v Joseph. Leila v Charlotte. Love v Lust. Will she ever find her true self? Matt is her flirty co-worker that she could see herself forming a relationship with. He is actively and openly pursuing Leila after their encounter. To me, Matt was a masochist. He knew what he was getting into when pursuing Leila, but he kept holding on to the hope that she’ll change for him and see the light. Joseph, on the other hand, is her sexy, kinky as hell, boss. He’s got Leila by the balls, so to speak. Her career is in his hands and is using that to control her. However, there’s something about Joseph that ignites all of Leila’s fires. She can’t say no to him, regardless if he’s paying her or not. Each fill a void that Leila never really knew she had. Is she the relationship type or will she continually seek the next kinky encounter? The journey that Leila embarks is erotic. Decisions are made, hearts are broken, boundaries are blurred and comfort levels are tested. And you know what? I enjoyed every moment of it. It started off a little slow, but when it picked up, it really picked up. I definitely plan on reading the next installment :)

Charlotte the alter-ego of Leila wants to continue to come out and play. Charlotte is the slutty whore who is paid for sex while Leila is the law abiding aspiring tax attorney. Pulled into Charlotte's web are Matt, Joseph and Charlie. Matt is the supposed good boy who wants to save her. Charlie is a former lover who turned her into kink (although it's not clear) and is now Matt's stepfather. Joseph is the HR violating boss of Leila who is paying to fuck her. Do you have that all straight? This story was too messy for me. The story didn't flow; it was a bumpy read from beginning to end for me. For writing style, I give this a 1 star. I had to re-read passages and then try to figure out what was going on. It felt disjointed for me. It could be that the story is meant to be this way since Leila's mind was in a jumble. She didn't know who she wanted to be with and Matt was no different. Matt's communication skills are that of a teenage boy. He also doesn't say what he means. He says he accepts Leila yet he doesn't really. Leila wants to be a good little girl and settle down. All I can say is, "keep lying to yourself. You are a whore and you like it. You wouldn't know monogamy if it bit you on the ass." This story was filled with messy relationship entanglements that dragged for me. It's like watching a terrible 50 car pile up with a jackknifed semi and a train derailed. Who knows what the collateral damage will be? I do know that ground zero is Leila. She needs to either decide get rid of the Charlotte persona for good or merge it into herself. Separating it isn't doing a damn thing for her. I ended up giving this story a 2.5 star out of 5 because I liked the kinky sex factor. I enjoyed the knife play as well as the dominance exuded from Joseph. Joseph is what made the book for me. His naughty behaviour along with his, "you will do what I say" attitude flat out turned me on. He seems to be the only one who knows what he wants. The others are well, children as he calls them. The f/f scene was tasty and I wish there were more. The menage was hot and honestly, if the sex wasn't in this book, it wouldn't be my type of book to read. I don't care for messy relationships and these bloody "games". I like it straight forward. The concept of this book was very good and something I found appealing. The ending of the story is inconclusive as we are waiting for the possible resolution in book two. I did end up classifying this book as BDSM for the light bondage and specifically the knife play. I can't call this sugarkink because of the edge play, but I can say this is BDSM lite and I do mean lite. Recommended for those who like hot messy relationship stories where the main characters are confused and don't know what they want.

Leila the lawyer is moonlighting as Charlotte the call girl; she uses the excuse of saving her childhood home, but deep down she knows that's not the real reason she whores herself out to strangers. Charlotte is like the devil on Leila's shoulder, and Charlotte wants sex. Hot, rough, wild sex. Leila has a set limit for the job, though, and is only three Johns away from leaving the agency. When Charlotte walks into a hotel room for her next job, she comes face to face with her boss and her coworker, who want to have a threesome with the sexy lawyer. Charlotte is turned on, and Leila knows her job is at risk if she says no, so she has no choice but to enjoy a couple hours of hot, rough, wild sex with them. Afterward, her boss makes it clear that she can't keep her after-hours job, but that he'll graciously book those last three jobs she needs to take. After that there's an awkward and complicated love triangle, as her boss essentially owns her for three more jobs (and don't forget that these jobs involve sex), while her coworker wants to date her and is jealous of the boss. What follows is a series of fights, makings-up, more yummy sex, and lots of awkward moments.Lucy Morgan has a way of painting with words, using metaphors and metonyms to describe how Charlotte is so much a part of Leila, and how Leila feels about the world around her. This novel isn't about sex; it's about a woman who wants more than she's supposed to want, more than "normal" people want. It's about a woman who has to make hard decisions in order to come to terms with herself.

I loved this! It was so DIFFERENT than anything I've ever read. I loved that Leila seemed like a real woman who wanted things that women aren't "supposed" to want. I also love how when the love interest came along, it didn't suddenly make every man in her past (and present) inconsequential. She deeply cared for more than one person. And in real life, that happens. I don't know why more people haven't read this one! I think this story will stay with me for a long time.

Amanda's review posted on Guilty Pleasures4.5 StarsWhen I first saw this book I was instantly taken by the cover and thought it was quite beautiful and sensual. I had to do a double take on the title but it did grab my attention. After reading the blurb I knew that I had to get it and see what it was all about. Boy was I quite pleased with the whole story and really enjoyed it. Chairman of the Whored by Lucy V. Morgan, my first by this author, is a well written story which has me anxiously waiting for the second book in this series coming in June.Leila Vaughn is a tax attorney intern by day in a London law firm but by night she is Charlotte, a high-end call girl. She’s trying to pay off her parents’ debts created by her college education and found this solution the best due to her one time affair she had with an older man in college. With only 3 more jobs to do before it is all paid off and done she finds herself uncomfortably meeting her latest clients, her coworker Matt and her boss Joseph. She jumps at the chance at having sex with both of them, one very hot scene, and finds herself oddly attracted to both men. Joseph wants her to quit her job at the escort service and he will buy out the rest of her jobs in order to serve him. This puts Leila in a very precarious position because her night job just ran smack into her day job making it hard to keep her dirty little secret a secret. What you get here is a very complicated love triangle in which Leila now has to figure out what does she really want. The story takes you on her journey to figure out whether she can put away her call girl ways and her alter ego Charlotte and build a monogamous relationship with Matt or continue on doing what she is doing now.I liked how this story showed me her struggles and growth about how she felt about being a call girl and the wanton side of her personality. Honestly I think she liked being a call girl and encountering all types of characters with her clients and the kinky side of sex, but was a little bit embarrassed to admit that to Matt and even to herself. There are so many layers to this story which totally enriches it to make you wonder if it is even possible for her to have a romantic relationship with Matt. More things are revealed and then there is the attraction she has for her boss, Joseph, The Chairman of the Whored himself. He comes back into the picture, complicating matters even further, when he wants Leila to fulfill her end of the deal and finish working off her jobs. One of the best things about this story are the secondary characters that work with Leila/Charlotte which lighten the story with their conversations, bantering back and forth insults, but somehow you can tell they truly are real friends to Leila, and are looking out for what’s best for her. Both Aidan and Clemmie add to this story, as well as William her escort service boss and his wedding, which bring on some comic relief. The many sex scenes that are portrayed in this story, m/f/m and f/f/m ménages, plus a knife play scene at the end, are very hot and shows the sensual and erotic part of the story which definitely made it steamy for me. However the ending kind of left me hanging so I couldn’t give it a full 5 stars but would definite make it a recommendation for anyone who likes British writing of erotica and a journey for a young girl trying to figure out her sexual identity and desires.

Readers who love dirty workplace sexcapades with uneven power balance will be interested in this book which could best be described as kinky chick-lit. The tone is quirky, irreverent, and whiny. I vacillated between being intrigued at the unfolding events and annoyed by the pretentious witticisms and self-absorption. One is immersed in Leila’s mind as she struggles to find her identity somewhere between tax attorney and whore; the first, her aspiring career as an ambitious, corner-office wannabee and the second, how her education was financed—not as she originally intended. The discovery of her moonlighting job by two fellow attorneys who solicit her unravels the carefully constructed illusion that she can maintain two separate lives. Leila is suddenly faced with decisions she never thought she’d have to make.Matt, another apprentice at the firm is enamored with her and seeks to save her. Young and idealistic he aims to win her heart.Joseph, a prestigious lawyer has no use for hearts, but covets Charlotte—Leila’s alter ego.As the story unfolds the web of Leila’s interactions becomes more tangled and certain truths can no longer be hidden. While I can empathize with her, the pacing is slow as it meanders and she keeps trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Teetering between the two men and lives Leila grapples with the dichotomy that faces all females—to be the virgin or the whore. Ultimately, she has to answer the question: What does she want and what does she need? Honestly, until the last ten percent of the book the kink factor was low. Sure, there’s some nice slutty behavior, but not BDSM. With Leila’s self-acceptance a new door opens, one with some delicious edge play—which still doesn’t excuse the pretentious blade references that one suffers through ad nauseum.A copy was provided by BDSM Book Reviews for a No-Glitter-Blown review.

The personal journey of main character Leila is what made this book for me. She's struggling to come to terms with who she is and it's not easy. Her taste for BDSM and a darker flavor of sex isn't given some pat excuse like past abuse or some other dark psychological reason; for a refreshing change the characters are portrayed as people who just like their kink, no explanations needed. Leila and Joseph, that is. Matt has another role to play, something I appreciated from a storytelling point of view even though I didn't care for him. Joseph had moments where he was almost too much the dominant alpha but it made me hope that Leila will be able to peel back that surface and have a look at what's underneath in the follow-up, The Whored's Prayer, which I'm looking forward to. Not only does the author do a great job with writing complex characters, she also knows how to write a great sex scene. The last one between Leila and Joseph was terrifying (knife play), incredibly erotic, and possibly the most effective use of sex as a means of revealing character I've come across so far. Chairman Of The Whored is both hot and steamy as well as thought-provoking,a combination that makes for a great read.

WOW. WOW. WOW. THANK YOU Stylo Fantome FOR RECOMMENDING THIS BOOK. I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO IT.I definitely saw where "Degradation" could have come from this book, I also got a little "Tears of Tess" vibe from this book. I felt really bad for Matt but he was being a really tosser in the last bits of the book, yeah Leila shouldn't have done that to Matt but MOVE THE FUCK ON. It's been a fucking week, get back together with your needy girlfriend. Sex does not automatically put you in a relationship. At first I was really skeptical with Joseph because of his relationship with Isobel.. and he was fooling around on the side and I was like what. The chemistry him and Leila have is really mind blowing, it's definitely "Tears of Tess" mind blowing. I really loved this book.I love you Styloe Fantome."5 I CANT BELIEVE IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO READ STARS"

4.5 starsI loved this book! It's set in London and it's about a women who works as a high end call girl at night to help pay her parent's debt and is an attorney by day. These worlds collide when her colleague and boss hire her for the night. OMG, so sexy, MFM, FF, FFM, anal, voyeurism plus this is an absolutely wonderfully written book. I laughed out loud several times, and there is such a great plot and amazing secondary characters to go along with all the sex. My only warning is that it is written by an English author and set in the UK so there are many sayings and phrases that you may not be familiar with. I happen to love this and it's why I seek out English authors. If you are looking for an extremely HOT book, with lots of dirty sex, that's funny and entertaining, that also delivers in plot and substance then I say read this today! LOVED it. I'm reading the second book now, and it's really good too.

Great concept. Loved the dialogue, the humor and the conflicts facing the h. I thought the book had more depth than I expected and I loved witnessing as the h began understanding and accepting who she was at her core. Very good!

It's super dark and not in the way you think. I'm glad that Leila is finally accepting who she is but I want to know more about Charlie and I really liked Matt as well. Ugh. Too bad there is usually only one winner, unless this can b an epic threesome novel.

Tenía un buen comienzo, me aburrí bastante cuando Leila intenta iniciar algo con Matt, me aburrí definitivamente cuando Joseph dejó de aparecer y me quedé recalculando un poco la última escena. O sea, what... the... fuck...

2.5The story is beautifully written. Lucy V Morgan knows how to write a complicated story with a voice that can sound cruel, raw and poetic. there's no denying her talent. That said, I simply couldn't get into it. Leila's story was polluted and confusing, and it was interesting, but it didn't excite me or made me feel anything for that matter, not even boredom, cause i did keep reading, but it wasn't like I was dying to know what was going to happen next. The characters felt honest and real, and thanks God there was no insta love. Because I can recognize that maybe this simply wasn't the book for me, I wont rate the book with stars. I still like this writter, have read her other projects and liked them, so I'll give her another chance.

Nina's ReviewBreaking Leila is the retitled book Chairman of the Whored by Lucy V. Morgan. For all you erotica fans, this one will fill your needs and then some. It is about lawyer by day, prostitute by night Leila Vaughn. The thing I really appreciated about this book was that Leila, whose alter ego Charlotte only comes out to play when she is paid by the hour, is for all intents and purposes a good girl….she has a great job, she is respected in her company and by her peers, yet she LOVES sex. Honest to god, LOVES sex. To repay a debt, she must turn tricks at night….but not to the seedy people of the UK, but to the upper crust. As much as she knows that she isn’t the type of girl who should enjoy it, her calling is definitely in the bedroom. With a triangle of love and blackmail, Leila must sort through some events that have occurred that and try and find the best path for her. Should she choose the safe bet Matthew or the bad boy Joseph? With Kinky Charlotte breathing down her neck to go the highly sex filled route, this story will keep you guessing as to which way she decides. If you like a highly erotic tale, you will love this….Leila fills the fantasies of men and women and Lucy V. Morgan captures it on paper very vividly. There is really no guessing as to what is going on in the bedroom….its in vivid Technicolor! The only downfall of this book for me, a girl who absolutely loves books that take place in the UK, was I struggled with some of its verbiage. I know that someone who lives across the pond will probably find the quips and jokes funnier and will know a lot more of the Britishisms as I like to call them better than me.I truly enjoyed Breaking Leila and am really looking forward to getting my hands on Breaking Joseph….but don’t think that with that title you know what is going to happen at the end of book one, I assure you Leila Vaughn has a lot more up her sleeve than we have been shown!

This just wasn't for me. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the writing; I just couldn't get into the story. Leila, aka Charlotte, is a lawyer by day and a call girl by night. Don't misunderstand, I see nothing wrong with women owning their sexuality. In fact, I applaud it, but there is a line between loving sex and being a complete ho bag and Leila crossed it. You cannot be sexually frustrated because one man didn't let you finish and immediately show up to another's apartment. He'll know (he did), and I just don't enjoy stories like that. There was also the issue of Matt. What a complete contradiction he was. He hired her, so he knew what she was, yet he kept getting mad about it. Can't have it both ways, Matt. Now, the book did have a character I loved--two, in fact. Joseph was deliciously dominant, and I loved him in all his assholish glory. There was also Aiden, who provided much needed comic relief with frequent phone calls that interrupted Leila's trips down memory lane (I still haven't figured out how they contributed to the plot).I do seem to be in the minority here, so let me say that the writing is superb (especially the sex scenes, which were scorching hot). My rating is based purely on the fact that the story just didn't do it for me, but it may do it for you.

I had to DNF at 8%I really thought I was going to like this book. Like really, really like it. The synopsis promised so many things I love in a book. Dark, Damaged, BDSM...yeah...it might have all those things but I just could NOT go any further. While the synopsis is absolutely amazing, the rest of what I read was....well.....it was not good. I am trying to be nice here.First off, I had no idea who was speaking at any given moment. The dialogue in this book needs tons of work. Name tagging would be helpful. I literally had to stop and count the lines of the dialogue to figure out who was talking. There was absolutely no character development before important things started happening. You have no idea what is really going on because all of a sudden you are thrown into an extremely odd scene with Leila/Charlotte, Joseph, and Matt. I had to stop after this scene and literally looked at my kindle and said, "What the fuck just happened?"Then there were the most random things being discussed. Rugby bruises...Marmosets (at great length, too) and I just had no clue what the hell was going on.I REALLLLLLLY wanted to like this book. Like I said, the synopsis was so promising. But this one just wasn't for me.

Dnf the book it started going stale.Notes for review.Still in the process of reading on chapter 3.Character reference.I feel like I've invaded Leila body. I'm her now that sounds weird right? I feel like I'm stuck in between 2 whirlwind seasons. Matt is autumn where the leaves are turning into a vibrant tones of warm red, orange. Where its getting cold but not enough, where there is a hint of winter but your fingers are still wrapped around summer and don't want to let go. Its warm, cosy beautiful. Then on the other side I feel the chilling freeze. Its beautiful yet chilling it gives me goose bumps, waters up my eyes that's how cold it is. My fingers are numbed due to the cold , gone pink hat I need to put them under hot water or else they will fall off. The sky is a clear blue no sunlight no warm aues . I can feel the chill through every part of my body . Even my breathe when I breathe I can see it that's how cold it is. Its like I've being gently touched , like a lightly not even there kiss. I love it, want it but can't touch it but its there . That my friend is Joseph.

3.5 starshot and twisted. If you described this to me, I'd say "not a chance it hell". It jumps all over some of my buttons like cheaters galore and questionable BDSM practice...and yet. And yet. It's super hot. And I mostly just liked all of it.Minus half a star for some seriously screwing internal monologue. It's first person POV from Leila, and some of her tangents are just too much. I had zero idea what she was talking about and was wondering if she was high.
