A Study In Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a short mystery novel beginning the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Watson. In the first edition of Sherlock Holmes Watson and Sherlock Holmes discover a murder that has happened within there city. The murder victim has been killed in a way that no one can figure out except for Sherlock Holmes and with only a corpse with red hair to figure out the study in scarlet.I loved this book and the well developed mystery that was written within it. I listened to the audio book with this book and it added way more depth to the story and made me want to come back and read it more and more. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 stars because of its almost peaceful mood and how the mystery is so in depth and makes you question your own theories on the murder. I would recommend this book to anyone 6th grade and up because it is a simple mystery to wrap your head around and it is a quick read depending on how fast you read books. Overall the story was a great read that makes me very excited for future books in the series.

This book is written on the point of view from Dr John A. Watson, who was injured in the war, and is now working on a case with Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock is a scientist working on a case about someone who was murdered and the murderer had written: RACHE on the wall with blood.I really enjoyed this book, it was very interesting how he was so good at figuring things out, and it was suspenseful, and thrilling.
