I have to do this as a list.1. Typos and grammatical errors galore.2. There was "sloshing." Every time the heroine had an orgasm, sloshing echoed through the room. Why was she sloshing?! That can't be healthy.3. They have sex in wolf form. I don't think the neighbor's dogs having sex is hot and I feel the same way about this. But that wasn't the most disturbing part...4. After the heroine had unprotected sex with three of the brothers, the fourth brother preformed oral sex on her.5. I think there may have been a plot but I'm not sure.

I soooo wanted to give this book a better rating. Everything that's happening in the story (outside of the sex) is interesting. Not that the sex wasn't interesting. She adapts to anal sex like a champ. Just on the bare bones of the plot, I'd give it a four. But the writing inside just drives me crazy. This is something I've noticed with this writer before. I've been hoping it would get better but it hasn't. Maybe I'm just being picky. While I was reading this, I discovered the "note" function in the iBooks app and went nuts. So instead of listing a bunch of examples of my irritation, I'm going to list some of the notes I made as I read."Does anyone say this anymore? Really?""Drama queen much?""Can she not walk?" (I will explain this. After she mates with them all, they carry her a lot. A LOT.)"Who the f*ck talks like this?""How do you stare at information you were told?""Who says this sh*t?""How is a person 'plush?'""She's been almost killed twice in two days and she still has a French manicure!""All of a sudden, she's super wolf queen." (It's amazing what sex can do.)"Fear my awesomeness!!! Kneel before ZOD!!!" (Bonus points if you get the reference.)"What is this 'of the wolf' crap?"As you can see, I was at my wits' end and about to go over the edge. Thankfully, the story wrapped up. And I like the story! I just wish it made better sense in places, like my brain. I wish it didn't make me want to throw my phone against the wall. I still like it, though. I'll probably read it again. Time and distance will decrease the pain.

Samantha Gray has moved on with her life after two years, after a betrayal taught her a valuable lesson about love. The Valadamar brothers have made their interests in her known, but after months of trying to get close to her they still are not any closer to claiming their mate. When a hostage situation has Samantha in the center of the turmoil, Swat Team One is called in, who just happens to be Dustin, Kyle, Donny, Adam, and Trey Valadamar and they have had the final straw with protecting their mate. Once the rescue is finished, they are determined to keep her safe, but she is stubborn and not willing to back down. Once she finally begins to trust them, a lifetime of secrets begin to reveal itself causing a lot of confusion for their newly claimed mate.I was surprised by this one, had not added it to my tbr list because of the cover and title but than read a review and thought well I will give it a try. I am so glad I did, what a treat. The only critiscm I really had is you did not get to know all the men that well mainly Dustin, Adam, and Trey were the ones who shined through.

This was only eh for me.Instead of being wolves, they should have been bunnies because they sure screwed around like bunnies and I mean like practically every page. I don't think I would want to be Samantha. Yikes, with all that screwing, you'd think she would be really sore.

I'm not usually a fan of the paranormal, but I really liked this book. Probably because the hero(s) are one the SWAT team and are 5 hot brothers along with being wolves. The sex scenes were pretty hot (hence my 4 stars) and the story was pretty good and kept me involved.

I'm okay with your stereotypical heterosexist characterizations of femininity Ms. Dixie....I can suppress my inner radical Brown feminist sometimes, REALLY I can, BUT you ghettoized the Bronx and now we have beef heifer! *uber-stink-evil-eyeing you*

2.5 starsWell, I just hate to not give this a better rating, but even though the story was pretty good, there were some real eeeeeuuuw! things about it too, IMHO of course. I was reading along, and this looked like a neat menage Were story, then the bad stuff started to hit me in the eyeballs!1. Samantha is pretty well abused by her 5 (yes, FIVE) Alpha 'mates', but doesn't seem to think a thing bad about any of it. Right after she is attacked by a huge Bloods gang guy in the South Bronx, hit hard in the face and obviously has a concussion, a badly bruised cheek and jaw, bruises all over, and an eye swollen almost shut, they are all over her sexually like white on rice. No chivalrous "Hey, we really need to wait a few days until you heal up, Sweetie" from these dudes. What a bunch of great, caring mates... NOT!2. A couple of days later (maybe only one day), Samantha is again injured in a gang shootout and 'cut from her shoulder almost to her elbow' by a knife, so they do the same things again! With a woman whose face is swollen, whose eye is almost swollen shut, who has bruises all over her, whose arm has a huge knife cut, who has a slight concussion, and they won't stop out of caring or courtesy? WTF! Even if she doesn't want to stop, they should...There were a couple of other irritating things...1. The use of 'a hold' instead of 'hold', as in 'he grabbed a hold of her arm' instead of the more proper 'he grabbed hold of her arm', or even better, 'he grabbed her arm'. As a Southerner myself, I know that is commonspeak here, but it's still improper and irritating to read in print unless it is being used in a spoken explanation by someone who supposedly talks that way.2. Typos! Not as extreme as in some books I have read, but still there... copy editors anywhere?Anyway, I have all of Ms. Dwyers books that I have seen, and I will keep buying them. There was a surprise ending and a HEA, so that was good. It's just that the above things kept this from being a 3 or even a 3.5 for me. Sex is fine with uninjured females...

It wasn't bad, but there was a lot of reactions and situations that weren't really believable. Sam had so much new information and things she found out and she just accepted them, and they were major things and it wasn't written very believable. But despite this I liked this book.

I felt that this story dragged and I didn't find it interesting. It started well but then half way through I became rather bored with it. I won't be reading the others in this series.

Im not going to go over the story as you can read the blurb. There IS a story line, its not just ALL sex for the sake of it but you do really have to search for it. The h is somewhat irritating - she is bombarded with new info while at the same time also coming to terms with the fact that she is a wolf and she is mated to 5 brother and her parentage isn't quite as clearcut as she thought etc and so she is understandably a little put out but I was a bit puzzled by the way she dealt with it all. Initially we are told that she is this amazing social worker (so intelligent etc), yet there are glaring errors/ommisions. For example when she was at her house getting clothes to return back home to Work City and she was attacked and almost raped - no one seemed to think to ask her if the attacker spoke to her. If so they might have had a good idea who the super baddy was a bit earlier. Thats not the only plot hole. There are ongoing grammar issues and incorrect placing of words and really irritating statements like 'there may be millions of teams of wolves working for the government' hundreds OK.. thousands would be pushing it but millions! I read these kind of books every now and again for the giggle factor and I think next time Im going to keep a running total of how many times each guy has sex with the girl cos Im convinced that some of them are missing out.

Review done for The Romance Reviews.SWAT TEAM ONE AND THE SOCIAL WORKER is an explosive start to what's sure to be a fantastic new series by Dixie Lynn Dwyer. It was an intensely captivating ride from beginning to end, and I absolutely could not put it down. It's been two years, and Sam still isn't over the loss of her first love, Alex. She's made a life for herself in New York City as a social worker for the police department, but she still blames herself for his death. So, when she's attracted to not one but five brothers who work on the force-- and are wolf shifters like Alex--she does whatever she can to fight the attraction.Dustin and his five brothers are wolf shifters, and they know that Sam is their mate. They have tried to stay away from her, but when she puts her life in danger, they can't wait another second to claim her. And claim her, they do. However, the life she left behind in Dallas has more consequences than she ever knew. And Sam and her mates have to get some answers before she's taken from them for good. This one had it all. Action, suspense, gripping plot, all sorts of surprises...and YES, really hot sex! These five hot shifter males are all alphas and they are just incredibly yummy. Sam is the perfect mate for them as she's not going to just let them run over her. She starts off a bit timid in the book, but she really grew into quite the alpha female by the end. The secondary characters were amazing as well. Sam's family that she never knew existed, as well as her mates' extended family all added to the world-building that was so wonderfully illustrated by the author. The plot was fantastic. It blended both the shifter and human worlds wonderfully with the premise that shifters work with the government to not only protect the world but to also keep their secrets safe from those who would exploit them. There are a lot of surprises, plots twists and turns, and developments that keep you riveted. Every time I thought I had a handle on things, the author would throw something else in there to make me rethink everything I thought previously.I loved the eroticism of the book. The immediate connection between Sam and her men was also based on months of desire from a distance. And while there is plenty of sex in the book, the plot still continued and was the main focus of the book. I must warn you that there is some sex in animal form that was brief and not at all graphic. It all ended in a HEA that was quite satisfying but left the plot open to future books. Everything wasn't fully resolved, and I hope to hear more from the characters in the future. This is my first book by Dixie Lynn Dwyer, but I really liked her voice. She wrote in such a way that was real and supernatural all at the same time. I'm looking forward to discovering more of her work.

As a social worker in the Bronx, Samantha Gray was accustomed to dealing with men acting like animals. In a refreshing twist on a paranormal, she is even comfortable with the fact that some men were part animal. Where Samantha’s internal struggle goes for a rollercoaster ride is when she considers the men of Swat Team 1. They are five brothers in the biological sense but, more than that they are teammates in an organization that has made protecting the innocent a way of life. Here lately the “innocent” life that occupies most of their time belongs to one stubborn social worker that happens to be their mate. Dixie Lynn Dwyer is back with a terrific new series for Siren Publishing’s LoveXtreme line and she appears to be making a strategic change in the line's formula that should pay off for its originality alone. Where all of the authors (that I’ve read) have chosen to make their series about a single girl getting to know a group of men over X number of books it would appear that Ms. Dwyer is going to take an organization (SWAT Teams) made up of small groups of men and give each team their own story. That’s pretty exciting because readers are going to get a full length story in each book rather than six or more short stories. Ms. Dwyer is terrifically gifted in writing both paranormal and menage relationships. ST1, as it’s been shortened to on social networking sites, is no exception. The men are every bit as Alpha as fans of Ms. Dwyer have come to expect and the women are independent and stubborn to a fault. Readers will appreciate how Ms. Dwyer differentiates the personalities of the men from each other as well as from the men in her other popular series. The plot is thick and layered but with perfect timing and resolution by the end of this exciting story. One of the hallmarks of Ms. Dwyer’s writing is the ability to translate deep emotions into heart-wrenching dialogue and internal struggles. Samantha’s story begins with a tragedy that weighs on her for a large portion of the book. The reader will feel her pain and soul consuming guilt through Ms. Dwyer’s vivid and detailed language. To counter the emotional grief that Samantha is dealing with you can expect to be swept away by the awe inspiring love and devotion of the Valdamar brothers. It’s there in the way that they look at her, touch her and even in the way they give her grief over getting into trouble. If you’ve never been introduced to the writings of Ms. Dwyer, SWAT Team 1 is a good place to start. This series is sure to bring you back for more and seeking out other books by this incredible storyteller. Pick up a copy today and get lost in the fantastic imagination of the talented Ms. Dixie Lynn Dwyer. You’ll be very glad you did. Originally posted at http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...

4.5 stars What a great start to a series! This story is long, action packed, and steamy. It pretty much has it all…mystery, romance, action, and great sex. I didn’t want to put it down, but sleep did call. I thoroughly enjoyed that everyone involved in the story was aware of shifters. It was refreshing not to have to go through the reveal and the heroine’s conflict over it. Instead the author focused on the characters and plot, and boy was there a plot. There was more than one theme throughout the book, but it was written so well they were tied together nicely and I never got confused. The twist at the end was something I definitely didn’t see coming. Samantha has a lot to deal with in a short amount of time. Feeling guilty over a lost love she resists her attraction to the 5 brothers of swat team one. They live in the same neighborhood and seem to always be there when Sam needs them. Samantha lost her mother when she was young and her father comes across as lacking and neglectful. I got to see Samantha grow into herself, after she is finally told the truth of who and what she is, and accept the love of her mates. The inner strength she has was amazing. The brothers, Dustin, Trey, Adam, Donny, and Kyle are all Alpha males and show it. They waited about a year before claiming Sam so they didn’t overwhelm her. They are dominating yet tender, loving and caring about and with Samantha. It would have been easy for the brothers to come across as a single entity, but Dixie made sure the book was long enough and detailed enough for each of their personalities to come through and I loved each one of them. The sex was handled well. It wasn’t just a continuous ménage/free for all. There was time for each brother to have his time with Samantha. It was sweet and loving. It was hard and fast. It was always hot. I wondered how it would be handled with 5 men, but it was done better than I’ve read with some of the m/f/m I’ve read. This is a must read if you’re a fan of PNRe and ménage.

Just a few things really turned me off. The idea behind the story was good but the length of the book (due to repetitive descriptions) and follow through just didn't make me that happy. Not really spoilers but definitely more than I usually say.1. We are told quite a few times how hot and manly these men are. I'm talking about full blown descriptions... repeatedly. Thanks for reminding me but I got the picture the first time around. No need to beat it in.2. Her washboard abs. Great for her but the description made me think she was build like a dude with huge breasts. As a woman I find a guy lusting after her washboard abs weird. I'm sure there are guys that like a woman who's got a better six-pack than him and good for that. But it doesn't make me want to even picture the sex scene or foreplay in my head.3. This was a really huge thing for me as I saw it quite a few times. SLOSHING. Her girl bits made sloshing noises. A lot. There is no way in hell that is close to being hot and sexy. It makes me cringe. 4. And this is a eww thing that had me cringing. A brother finishes up his turn at the sexin, filling her up with his manliness and a different brother goes down on her. I'm sorry but.... no. A guy should not be entertaining that idea unless he likes man juice and the other guy isn't his brother.I'm not sure how I feel about checking out the author's backlist or coming books. Guess I'll play it by ear.

At first I was a little apprehensive about one woman and whole SWAT team because most stories I’ve encountered with more than one woman and two men seem to have lots of sex and not much story. Not the case with this one. Ms. Dwyer does an excellent job of providing a truly interesting storyline outside of the bedroom. Don’t get me wrong, the sex was smokin’ and abundant, but the characters had more going on than just sex.Ms. Dwyer does a great job of letting the reader get to know these five men’s personalities. As a reader, I didn’t feel like I got to know one brother better than the other. Although Sam did spend alone time with one brother over the others, I didn’t feel as though they were being excluded or left out.SWAT Team One and the Social Worker had a lot of action and plot twists that I wasn’t expecting from an erotic novel, but was pleasantly surprised with. This is my first book by Ms. Dwyer, but it definitely won’t be my last.

Unfortunately I've read the whole series, and each book is following the same script. Starts with the lead female being tough and strong but soon as the lead males glance at her, she is drooling and dripping (from one extreme to the other) why can't there be a even amount. The female always ends up totally dependent on the males... that’s really bad to me because I like the female to be independent and strong. not just start that way then end up a sniffling slut spreading her legs. Moving on to the next issue, each book the female doesn’t trust the men and are wary of them (which is right!) then the next page she is spinning on their dick! your left going "wait...what? It was only a page later". So don't wast your time, these books are a mans wet dream and a females nightmare. If anything the story moves way to fast to make any sense and its repeated 9 times

WOW!!!! Thi is a new author for me. I knew before starting this that this story involved 5 men with 1 woman. I love M/M/F erotic romances, but I've only read about 3 men 1 women. 5 men and 1 woman? WOW! But that wasn't hard to deal with at all. I was excited to get started on it. There was one surprise element to this story I was NOT expecting. The men were werewolves. The synposis on the back mentions the heroes being ALPHA males and part of a pack but I guess I missed the pack part. LOL! I would TOTALLY recommend this one to anyone who loves erotic romances with multiple males with 1 female and also loves paranormals with wolves.

I have very mixed feelings with this book. Their was a lot of sex which sometimes I regret to say took focus away from an actually good story. I did feel five men may be too much, sometime I just thinking give the poor girl a brake. There was words that freaked me out a little like 'slurping' that is not a word I would have used for sexy sound while having sex, just sounds creepy. The story without the stuff above was actually really good and did have a good back story as well as ending but sometimes it just felt out of place with the other stuff stopping starting the story. Good HEA which did make it better.

Erotic romance, paranormal Were Alpha males and a social worker that is hung up on the past. It's an OK story and yet it just isn't the best that I think this author could do. Just lacks the "zing" that makes the reader totally involved in the story. Always felt like an outsider looking in, rather than getting a sense of being in touch with the feelings of the characters. Not that this is my kind of configuration, but there wasn't a sense that these five individuals were very authentic emotionally.

this book had too many grammatical and errors which was disappointing. however, what was more disappointing was the fact that characters disappeared and reappeared in scenes at random. i kept getting confused as to the number of individuals involved in a scene especially in sex scenes where one of the brothers(not mentioned prior as being present)would appear suddenly at random. at first i thought i read it wrong but upon a reread, i realised that she seems to have lost count of her characters at certain points.

What I liked: This book has everything: government conspiracy, werewolves (way sexier than vampires), gangs, explicit sex and brothers. How many Baldwin brothers are there? That’s something to ponder. What I didn’t like:The word ‘Baby’ can ruin any sex scene. The author could have used the word ‘sloshing’ less frequently. That would be appreciated.Who I’d give the book to:The only person I would feel comfortable giving this book to gave it to me. It will be something to giggle about.

I'm not sure if I liked this book, the whole idea of five huge men finding their one mate in a tiny female is alittle strange. And then you add to the mix the fact that they are wolf shape shifters and that gets even stranger. The amount of sex in this book is just to much - I know she is one woman with five mates but should we really have to read about every time. There is another in this series which I'm debating on whether to read.

I really loved this story. I thought the whole concept of reality and non-reality mixed well. The only thing that I thought could use some work was the way the author wrote each character's words. There script sounded too much like a script and not as actual people would speak. Everything was said extremely proper. Other than that I thought the characters were great with the perfect mix of action, excitement and passion between the characters. Can't wait to read part 2.

When I saw this in RT Book Reviews I couldn't wait to read it. I enjoy books like this and was looking for a new author. I can't say that it was a bad story line, just that it dragged. I was disappointed that as I read the book all I thought was "when will it be done". At a different time I might try it again because I did like the men in this book. It's one of those books that you've got to try on your own.

DNF at 61% I tried, I really tried. I wasn't even expecting anything spectacular, just a fun, sexy sounding (SWAT Team Werewolves? Hell, yeah!) enjoyable to read story. Not so much. It started off reasonable bad but it just got worse, poor writing that doesn't engage you and a storyline that starts off with not much to recommend it and suddenly goes off the rails about halfway through. Just can't do it.
